Riken Yamamoto è l’architetto giapponese vincitore del Premio Pritzker 2024. Al contratrio di quanto emerso nelle precedenti attribuzioni del premio Pritzker, l’architettura di Riken Yamamoto si contraddistingue per un forte valore collettivo; non è una casualità il fatto che il suo principale impegno progettuale sia quello di unire le comunità, non quello di affermare il proprio “brand” o cifra stilistica, tipico delle archistar odierne. L’attribuzione del Premio Pritzker a Riken Yamamoto, perciò, permette di riflettere su quali siano i nuovi meanstrem progettuali e, di conseguenza, come venga narrata e/o percepita l’architettura contemporanea.
